
Breastfeeding Support Services
Blossoming Bellies offers breastfeeding support through private prenatal classes and/or postpartum visits. Brittany is a certified breastfeeding counselor with Nursing Mothers Alliance. Her knowledge includes breastfeeding basics, positioning and latching on, nursing babies with health concerns, nursing multiples, nipple and breast issues, breastfeeding during employment, expressing and storing milk, and more. Prenatal classes are held privately in the expecting parent's home. They are a one- time class, held for two hours. Breastfeeding basics are discussed, along with an overview of possible complications and their resolutions and information on storing and expressing milk. Individual concerns are also addressed and techniques and tips to ease the nursing relationship are shared. The cost of prenatal breastfeeding classes are $60. Postpartum breastfeeding support visits are also available. Brittany works one-on- one with the mother and baby to help facilitate comfortable and convenient nursing. Individual concerns and problems are addressed and solutions are developed in a hands-on manner that works for both the mother and child. The cost of postpartum breastfeeding support visits are $45 per hour. Telephone and email support is available on an unlimited basis to those who have hired Blossoming Bellies for their doula services. Doula services include two postpartum visits where breastfeeding support is a priority. Additional breastfeeding support visits can be purchased at the cost of $45 per hour. For clients outside the county of Philadelphia, a $15 travel- related expenses fee will be added to the cost of breastfeeding support services. |
