Birth Doula Services

  • 2 prenatal visits

  • on-call from weeks 36 to 42

  • presence from active labor up until 1 hour after birth

  • 2 postpartum/breastfeeding support visits

  • unlimited telephone and email support

  • available back-up doula

The role of the labor assistant is one of guidance and physical,emotional, and
informational support for the mother and her partner during labor and birth.  
Doulas offer a calming presence and help to relieve anxiety, tension, fear, and
nervousness in the laboring woman and her supporters.  By absorbing their fears
and reflecting assuredness, serenity, and empowerment, a peaceful and calming
atmosphere is created.  The doula helps ensure a nurtured and loving transition
into the postpartum period.  The cost of Blossoming Bellies birth doula services is
$600.

Blossoming Bellies is proud to provide wholistic birth services to the greater
Philadelphia area.  For clients outside the county of Philadelphia, a one-time $35
travel-related expenses fee will be added to the cost of doula services.
