| Birth Doula Support includes:
The role of the labor assistant is one of guidance and physical,emotional, and informational support for the mother and her partner during labor and birth. Doulas offer a calming presence and help to relieve anxiety, tension, fear, and nervousness in the laboring woman and her supporters. By absorbing their fears and reflecting assuredness, serenity, and empowerment, a peaceful and calming atmosphere is created. The doula helps ensure a nurtured and loving transition into the postpartum period. The cost of Blossoming Bellies birth doula services is $650 which includes physical and emotional support from active labor until one hour postpartum for a maximum of 15 hours. An additional fee of $15 per hour will be charged for the doula's presence exceeding 15 hours (this occasional fee allows Blossoming Bellies to maintain the low price of $655 as a base rate for birth doula services and to provide continuous and uninterrupted support from active labor through one hour postpartum). | Postpartum Doula Support includes:
For thousands of years, women have been surrounded by family, loved ones, and neighbors in the time after giving birth. In our society, it is often difficult for women to obtain the support they need to smooth the transition into parenting. The postpartum doula allows the new parents to focus solely on themselves and their family in the time after birth. Postpartum doula services allow the new mother and her partner to focus on their baby's and their family's needs with confidence, patience, and ease. Blossoming Bellies' postpartum doula services include a prenatal visit in which plans for postpartum support are discussed. In addition, each couple is provided with a folder of information and samples for the postpartum period. A $35 deposit secures services for your birth month and includes the prenatal visit. After that, postpartum doula services are $25 per hour with a minimum of two hours per day. Brittany is available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm. A gas fee of 15 cents per mile is assessed for errands such as grocery shopping and dry cleaning (as calculated by Consumer Reports magazine). Blossoming Bellies is proud to provide wholistic birth services to the greater Philadelphia area. For clients outside the county of Philadelphia, a $10 travel-related expense fee will be added to the daily cost of postpartum doula services (excluding the initial deposit). The combined cost is $855 for the 6 week group class and birth doula services. The combined cost is $930 for the 6 week private class series and birth doula services.
